BVSD faces tricky issues, like declining enrollment, school closures, and budget cuts. These complex issues should be considered carefully by engaging the community and focusing on what’s best for students.

• Our first priority must always be what is best for students.

• Engaging our community is key to building workable solutions.

• We must be responsible stewards of public funding.

• Responses to these issues will affect other district priorities, like equity and student well-being. We must remember our priorities moving forward.

• Complex challenges require a comprehensive approach. I will seek input from affected stakeholders -- including educators, parents, and students.

• Parents deserve transparency about all the issues affecting their children.
